Text: Luke 12: 19-20
19 And I’ll sit back and say to myself, “My friend, you have enough stored away for years to come. Now take it easy! Eat, drink, and be merry!” 20 “But God said to him, ‘You fool! You will die this very night. Then who will get everything you worked for?’ NLT

Jesus revealed the foolish thoughts of the rich man here. Why do we save money or amass wealth? At times to retire and invest! To enjoy the pleasures of life? To build houses? To buy more luxury cars? To be more secured and feel happy always? The idea is good, but to honour God and serve him with our resources is more thoughtful. We must demonstrate kindness and take the indigent to consideration and extend our kindness to others.
All your resources, labour, wealth, fame, money, investment – name it; ends here (on earth). The rich man died before he could be enjoying his stored wealth. God wants us to enjoy the fruit of our labour – and also think about life after death [life eternal]. It is foolish and dangerous if you are not thinking about eternity. Jesus charged us to think beyond earthbound goals and to use our resources for humanity and kingdom service. It is quite a foolish thought and a huge loss if you amass wealth and properties for your self benefit without impacting lives, not helping others, touching the poor and using your resources kindly – it is nothing but a foolish lifestyle
Prayer Capsules
1. Lord, help me to be useful for your kingdom with all my resources.
2. Lord, bless me with humility and godly fear.
3. Lord, help me to turn my foolishness to wise way of doing things.
4. Lord, let me not be a cast away in your kingdom in Jesus name
