6. “And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.” KJV

Life is filled with despair and discouragement! When you are a leader and a goal getter be read for serious frustrations. David’s soldiers turned against him and even talked about killing him. They bothered not look for solution for their troubles; they pounced blame on David. But David found his strength in God and set for a way out – instead of folding his hands, crying, finding faults looking for someone to blame or fighting his detractors.
When you face problems, it is useless to be snapping your energy on scorners or enemies of your goal. Develop courage for solutions; consider God’s wisdom and divine counsel for breakthrough. Nothing is achieved in the absence of wisdom, courage and strong faith. “David encouraged himself in the Lord”.
Considering the challenges we face, it is quite obvious we need divine strength to succeed, to overcome troubles, and overrun our enemies. Discouragement brings stagnation, weariness, frustration, setback, and low self-esteem. Let God’s spirit flow through your thoughts to help you pursue your vision and fulfill your destiny.

1. Lord, let your Spirit and power rest on me.
2. Lord, bless me with courage to overrun my challenges in Jesus name.
3. Divine confidence and hope fill my heart.
